Industrial research & development

Help shape a research workspace for industrial R&D.

We're exploring how scientific literature, experimental results and company systems can work together to support research decisions.

This page describes a direction and invites conversations. It is not a product you can buy, install or connect to your systems today.

What you can use today

These research capabilities are fully functional today for public literature and individual projects:

  • Scholarly Literature & Evidence Search

Search across OpenAlex, Crossref, Europe PMC, arXiv, Semantic Scholar and CORE with transparent provenance and publication type pre-filtering.

  • Project Workspace with SciScrape Agent

Ground multi-turn investigations in your own project files, lab spreadsheets (XLSX, CSV), and external literature, with citations linking supported findings to document passages.

  • Internal Document & Manuscript Audit

Preflight drafts against formatting rules and cross-check in-text citations against referenced papers with versioned revision tracking.

What we're exploring

  • Planned / Under exploration

    Co-scientist

A multi-agent research system for iterative investigations. Scope, availability and pricing are not yet defined.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    Shared workspace

Shared research projects with controlled team access. Roles, availability and plans are being defined.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    SQL databases and business data

Connecting research questions to the structured data a company already keeps.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    LIMS integrations

Bringing laboratory information system records into the same picture as the literature.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    Experimental results and context

Keeping results together with the conditions, samples and decisions around them.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    An AI agent with tools

An assistant that can use approved tools to help analyse, always showing what it used.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    Literature and patent sources

Scientific literature alongside patent sources for the same question.

  • Planned / Under exploration

    Access control and confidentiality

Roles, separation of data and security measures that can be checked, not just claimed.

SciScrape is provided as a cloud research service. Dedicated on-premise or desktop installations are not promised or offered in this beta.

Food and ingredient development

Example problem the future product should address

A formulation team wants to know whether replacing an ingredient will change texture or shelf life. The published evidence is in papers, the team's own trial results are in a laboratory system and spreadsheets, and the decision needs both. Today someone has to collect and reconcile them by hand.

Why we're doing this

SciScrape began inside industrial product development, where the practical problem was reaching good literature quickly enough to inform a decision.

I'm building it to shorten the path from a question to evidence you can defend. So far that means the literature, project analysis and draft review. If conversations with R&D teams show it is worth doing, it could extend to the systems where companies keep their own results.

Security has to be shown, not promised

Handling company data would require concrete controls and an agreed way of processing that data. We do not make blanket guarantees or claim certifications on this page.

You can use SciScrape's current tools for permitted tasks with public materials. Please don't send confidential data or documents, including in the email below.

Read how today's product stores and processes documents on the Data security page.
